The fourth annual We Walk for HOPE 5k is happening May 8, 2021!!
Losing a loved one is one of the most painful experiences for someone to endure. On June 2, 2017 the Webber Family faced this firsthand when their son Garrett lost his life due to a heroin overdose. Garrett was only 22 years old and was a young man with an “old soul”, known for his big heart, great wit, and love for authentic coffee. He aspired to be a welder one day, but lost his battle with addiction before living out his dream.
Sadly, Garrett is just one of many who struggle with opioid addiction. As part of turning their pain into purpose, it is the Webber Family’s heartfelt desire to bless others who struggle with life-threatening addictions.
On May 8, 2021 the fourth annual “We Walk for HOPE 5k” will be held to benefit the Garrett Webber Memorial Scholarship Fund at Genesis Recovery. This is a fun, non-timed walk to remember Garrett and all those we have lost to the disease of addiction. Proceeds from the event will go directly to providing treatment for individuals without resources. The Webber family hopes that this opportunity will free others from the grip of addiction and spare other families from the pain of losing a loved one too soon.
In honor of Garrett and all those taken far too soon, please walk with us on May 8th.
