Drug Addiction

Drug Addiction

The list below is compiled from the National Institute on Drug Addiction (NIDA). It represents the most commonly abused substances as determined by the National Survey on Drug Use and Health in 2012. It is not intended to be a comprehensive or exhaustive list of all substances of abuse. All substances of abuse vary in terms of impairment and the level of impairment will dictate the course of treatment and level of care provided.

Our inpatient drug rehab at Genesis Recovery is a highly structured, zero tolerance, state-licensed facility that is equipped and knowledgeable in the treatment of all of these substances of abuse.

To learn more about a specific drug, please visit NIDA at https://www.drugabuse.gov. There you will learn the facts about each of the most commonly abused drugs listed above. Each drug page includes a brief overview, street and clinical names, the effects of the drug on the brain and body, statistics and trends, and relevant publications and articles written by NIDA researchers and scientists.
